Video shows pickup truck followed by police before crash near Miami International Airport

Subscribe to our YouTube channel! NBC6 South Florida An investigation is underway after a pickup truck being followed by Miami-Dade sheriff’s deputies crashed near Miami International Airport. Video from Thursday night shows a Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office patrol car following a gray Chevrolet Silverado northbound on the Palmetto Expressway near Bird Road amid traffic. Moments later, additional law enforcement vehicles can be seen traveling northbound behind the pickup. Some were unmarked vehicles, while others had their emergency lights and sirens activated. The incident ended near Northwest 18th Street and 42nd Court, on the east side of Miami International Airport, where the Silverado struck a fence. Video from the scene showed Miami-Dade sheriff’s deputies surrounding the area following the crash. Authorities have not said why deputies were following the Silverado or what led up to the incident.
