Man dead, woman hospitalized after domestic murder-suicide attempt in southwest Miami-Dade, deputies say

Miami-Dade deputies are investigating a shooting in a southwest Miami-Dade neighborhood that left a man dead and a woman critically injured on Thursday morning. According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office, the call came in about the shooting near Southwest 154th Avenue and 148th Street, near Miami Executive Airport.Detective Daniel Castillo, the Sheriff's Office public information officer, said that upon deputies arriving, they discovered a man and a woman suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Castillo said that the preliminary investigation revealed that the man arrived at the home and shot the woman who lives there before turning the gun on himself. The Miami-Dade Fire-Rescue responded to the scene and declared the man dead. MDFR transported the woman to Jackson South Medical Center, where she is in critical condition.
